Whether it's about drugs, money, sex or cartel members joining the agency because of their pathetically low hiring standards and background checks, the US Border Patrol has some of the highest arrest records for corruption. Agents have been arrested for smuggling drugs, migrants and even endangered species. Some were arrested in the academy, while others were arrested after many years in the agency and being assigned to management. Some corrupt agents sold sensor and agent locations. Some organized the smuggling through their own checkpoints. They have been canine handlers, assigned to drug task forces, union officers, intelligence agents, etc. The list below is just a sample of the corruption occurring in the agency.
Note: These are only the ones who are reported. There are agents who are arrested and do not self-report. All Statistics are from CBP.gov.
